I play on the Ramuh server in Final Fantasy XI. I've been playing for over two years now, but you wouldn't know it from my level. I probably fit the exact definition of "casual player". But I do have fun playing, and have gotten very lucky on a few occasions while running from place to place.

Name: Weis
Race/Country: Hume Male/San D'Oria
Levels: RDM38, WHM31, BST25, THF23, WAR20, BLM16, MNK11, BRD10, SAM10, NIN6. DNC5, DRK5, PLD1, RNG1, SMN1, SCH1

Story Behind the Name: The true story behind Weis' name is kind of boring. My mind froze when I came to the name selection part of character creation, and after putting in a couple anime- and game-related names that didn't work, I came up with this. Now I justify it as a variation of the Weiß in Weiß Kreuz, or based on the grocery store chain Weis Markets. You may think that strange, but my original test character on the Shiva server was named Meijer. Yes, I know I have problems.

Crafting Levels (as of 3/19/08)

Woodworking: 60.0
w/Lumberjack
Alchemy: 58.3
Clothcrafting: 50.3
Boneworking: 40.4
Smithing: 26.x

Prized Possessions
Leaping Boots - from Leaping Lizzy herself!
Mist Silk Cape - direct from Spiny Spippy!

I also have a host of mules scattered across Vana'diel, for a variety of purposes in addition to the standard use of mules as storage. Well, most of them really are just for storage, but I've got my stuff divided up between them all pretty evenly, and almost logically (imagine that, eh?). If you ever happen to be on Ramuh server, and see one of my mules, be sure to /wave or something.

Name: Tarl
Race/Country: Hume Male/Bastok
Current Location: Bastok
Levels: WHM7, WAR3
Uses: Cooking and Alchemy ingredient storage, Bastok AH runs

Story Behind the Name: Tarl's name comes from Tarl Desenea of the D&D "The Pools" series. I decided on using Tarl as a character after Jen created Shalbalofcormyr as a Hume Female from Bastok.

Name: Happytrees
Race/Country: Galka Male/Windurst
Current Location: San D'Oria
Levels: WAR16
Uses: Weapon storage, Woodworking/Lumber storage, the times I just need to go out and smash things

Story Behind the Name: I had just bought one of those Bob Ross t-shirts at Target, one of the "Happy Trees" ones, and my deviant imagination went wild. Except the only way I could envision a Galka with a name including the word happy was for him to come from Windurst. He is the large model, of course. If you're going to play a Galka, you might as well go all out, ne?

Name: Sashenka
Race/Country: Mithra Female/San D'Oria
Current Location: San D'Oria
Levels: THF7
Uses: Crystal storage whore, San D'Oria AH runs

Story Behind the Name: She's named after a character in a Spanish soap opera who, after getting into a fight with someone, viciously cut her hair and then put on a babushka and left for her flight to the Ukraine. Ok, so that's not what really happened... but when you're watching a Spanish soap opera without knowing Spanish, you have to make up what's going on. Sort of like watching raw anime, but with fewer clichés to take advantage of.

Name: Entipy
Race/Country: Hume Female/San D'Oria
Current Location: Jeuno
Levels: MNK1
Uses: Boneworking and Clothcraft ingredient storage, Jeuno AH runs (and man are those common)

Story Behind the Name: The princess Natalia Thomasina Penelope, daughter of King Runcible and Queen Bea of the state of Isteria, from Peter David's Sir Apropos of Nothing. She is much more commonly known as Entipy, thankfully. She may or may not be a psychotic arsonist.

Sorry for the screenshot. Squeenix updated the character creator and I can't download the HQ versions any more.

Name: Momoshiro
Race/Country: Hume Male/Windurst
Current Location: Windurst
Levels: WAR7
Uses: Smithing ingredient storage, finished Food product storage, Spell Scroll storage, Riding armor storage, Windurst AH runs

Story Behind the Name: His name comes from the character Momoshiro Takeshi from The Prince of Tennis. Gotta love Momo-chan.

Name: Felessan
Race/Country: Hume Male/Bastok
Current Location: Bastok
Levels: WAR3
Uses: Armor storage

Story Behind the Name: Felessan takes his name from a character in Anne and Todd McCaffrey's Pern series. I'm a diehard fan of the series, and had to name my most recent mule after one of the characters from it.
