There's just something about the characterizations in Mahou Tsukai Tai! that get you involved in the characters to the point where you can feel not only about them, but with them. The designers did a superb job of creating an interesting (if wacky) story, and weaving the characters into it. If confronted, I'd probably admit that Akane is my favorite character, but in reality I truly like all of them... even Mizuha.
