Kind of on a whim, I picked up the first volume of the manga when Tokyopop put it out. It looked interesting, and that was enough for me at the time. Well, I got hooked. And to top it all off, I decided that I really wanted to cosply as Shizuma Kusanagi sometime soon (just what is it about characters names "Kusanagi" that makes them so cool?). Fast forwarding to Wizard World 2002, they showed the first two episodes of the series dubbed, and I found myself liking Kusanagi even a bit more. Then, as the credits rolled for episode 2, I got the shock of the con when I saw Seki Tomokazu credited with doing his Japanese voice. If I hadn't been in a theater with 50-ish people, I would have screamed out in anguish. As it was, I curled into a sitting fetal position, and rocked back and forth, whispering "Naze? Naze? Doushite?" over and over to myself (and the friend I was with at the time, who knows all about this "Seki Effect" of mine). Why, oh why, can I not escape Seki Tomokazu?!
